Recruitment at YA/YF: How do we help Young Professionals to get started?

young professionals

The first step to a successful career? The right support. At Young Analytics and Young Financials, we go out of our way to help young talent grow. Whether it’s LinkedIn training courses, CV checks, or direct contact at Career Days – we ensure that young professionals not only stand out but also enter the data and finance sector prepared. Ready to launch your career? We give you the tools, the network, and the opportunities to make a difference.

The importance of a strong profile

LinkedIn is the place where you, as a young professional, can present yourself to potential employers and expand your network. At Young Analytics and Young Financials, we attach great importance to good preparation for the job market. During our training courses, which we provide at universities throughout the Netherlands, we support you as an (inter)national young professional in setting up your LinkedIn profile. We start with the basics: filling in skills, languages, a powerful profile text, a good header, and, of course, a professional photo. Then, we teach you how to share valuable content, make strategic connections, and use the right keywords to get noticed online. This way, we make sure that you position yourself as a young professional in the best possible way for your future career.

Why is a strong online presentation so important? Firstly, LinkedIn is often the first place recruiters and hiring managers spot talent – you can think of it as a digital business card. In addition, LinkedIn offers the opportunity not only to find vacancies but also to build a personal brand identity and actively network with inspiring professionals.

Fairs and Career Days: The power of direct contact

Besides our training courses, we can regularly be found at fairs and Career Days throughout the Netherlands. In 2024, we provided training courses to the Study Association SEFA, Aureus, Economic Faculty Association, and Nyenrode and could be found at the events below, e.g.;

  • Business Orientation Days – BOD Event (Amsterdam)
  • SEFA Career Week Event (Amsterdam)
  • Star Management Week (Erasmus University Rotterdam)
  • National Econometrics Day – LED Event (Noordwijk)
  • Business Days Event (Twente)
  • LinkedIn Training (Asset Tilburg)
  • BETA Career Days (Amsterdam)

These events and training sessions are the moment when you, as a young professional, come into contact with us. During these events, we offer LinkedIn and CV checks and provide targeted feedback. We also offer you the chance to take a professional photo, which can be used for your LinkedIn profile. These events are valuable because they bridge the gap between your studies and career.

The value of networking in recruitment

Building a strong network is essential in the data and finance sector. Networking not only provides access to opportunities but also to knowledge, experiences, and inspiration. A good network can accelerate your career as it opens doors to new opportunities and professional relationships.
